These kinds of women were more prevalent in earlier times, before maternity clothing could be worn both during, as well as after pregnancy. They figure that just because they are pregnant for only nine months, they should not have to buy all new clothing.

This is true for things like larger t-shirts, as well as some longer dresses, but the truth is that wearing smaller clothing during a pregnancy can be dangerous.
